Stop! Do a Midday Reset! The Day Is Not Lost!

We’ve all had those days. By noon, the food choices don’t look like what we planned, the stress is high, and the motivation feels low. I was on vacation and had made some choices which were affecting my progress. Instead of going to sleep early, I had binge-watched a Netflix TV show. That decision resulted in my sleeping later and not following my morning routine of movement and bible study with prayer. Later in the day, my food choices were not aligned with my plan and it caused me to have stress and anxiety. The temptation is to throw in the towel and think, “I’ll start again tomorrow.” But here’s the truth: your day is not lost. Right now, you can pause, reset, and finish strong.

Here’s a simple midday reset routine to help you get back on track:

1. Stop & Track All Food

First things first—pause. Write down or log everything you’ve eaten so far, no matter what it was. This isn’t about guilt—it’s about awareness. Seeing your intake in black and white helps you move forward with clarity instead of frustration.

2. Pray & Ask for Help Resetting

Take a quiet moment with God. Pray and ask Him to help you reset your heart and mindset. A short prayer like, “Lord, help me to release the mistakes and guide me to make healthy, honoring choices the rest of today,” can shift your entire perspective.

3. Plan the Rest of Your Food for the Day

Don’t wing it—plan it. Decide what nourishing meals and snacks you’ll eat for the rest of the day. Log them into your food tracker right away. This gives you a roadmap to follow and removes the guesswork when you’re tired or stressed later.

4. Move Your Body

Finish your day strong by adding movement. Go for a walk, stretch, or choose a quick workout to get your blood flowing and your mindset refreshed. Ending with movement not only burns energy but also gives you a sense of victory over the day.

Final Encouragement

A midday reset is not about perfection—it’s about progress. Don’t let a rough start define your whole day. Stop, reset, and finish strong. Your health journey is built on thousands of small choices, and you get to make a new one right now.

You are not behind. You are not lost. The day is still yours to live abundantly.
